I tried multiple times to write a well researched essay today detailing a few things I'm annoyed with in politics, but it kept feeling not good enough and I just want to vent instead of taking too much time to make it perfect. So that's how you get this random stream of thoughts on politics.
It's continues to be frustrating to hear different Democrat politicians say that we need to stop worrying about identity politics. Can we please try and go one election without trying to abandon any group we deem too annoying to fight for?
I fear that the chance for anything to be done about the genocide in Gaza has passed. Now that we weren't able to convince the Democrats to do anything about it in order to win the election last year, we are stuck in the hard place of we probably need to just eat shit and vote for whoever they hand us or risk the continuation of some sort of MAGA bullshit. And once we are stuck voting for whatever, then they have no reason to do anything to curb Israel.
This of course doesn't mean we should stop screaming from the rooftops that the genocide needs to stop. All of our politicians should know that all the blood spilled is going to be on their hands unless they do something about it. Maybe then we can get lucky and end up with someone who will do something about the current situation.
Last of all is a hope that, if we regain control of the government come November, there will be any sort of consequences for anyone involved in the Epstein list. I'm not holding my breath, but hopefully something comes of it and it isn't just swept under the rug.
